Our History

Bay Building Group was founded in 1982 by Michael Malherbe as Bay Renovations, with a strong focus on domestic home builds and renovations. Built on quality craftsmanship and reliable service, the business quickly earned a trusted reputation within the residential construction sector.

In 1990, the company expanded into insurance building services in Victoria, marking a significant step in its growth. This evolution led to the rebrand as Bay Building Services in 1996. Continued expansion followed, with operations commencing in Queensland in 2008, the launch of Linx Restoration Services in 2009, and further growth across South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia, the ACT, and Tasmania between 2010 and 2020.

Today, Bay Building Group operates nationwide, delivering integrated building and restoration services across Australia. Then in 2023, Bay Building Group enters into a strategic partnership with Envest Group.
